Re: generated art
I know nobody is going to watch 40 minutes of YouTube but I swear this channel is really good and hey, it's about artistry and the humanity behind it so I'm just sucking up to the admin
EDIT: Sidenote, but animation is absolutely the most toxic art community btw

Re: generated art
the more quality the more art it is, that's just common sense
Re: generated art
Sure, I'm aware of animations like that, but they prove my point. Pause it anywhere, look at a single frame. It has so much less detail than any of the frames in the AI animation I posted! Of course it does! You can't make 24 fully detailed paintings for a single second of footage, that is insane, no one can do that. But with the help of AI, now they can!

oh are we defining art nowRylinks wrote:the more quality the more art it is, that's just common sense

ok what purpose would having the background change in every frame of an animation serveAshenai wrote:Sure, I'm aware of animations like that, but they prove my point. the cooler something looks the more art it is
Re: generated art
you compress a wav of the shocked noises people make when they first see it into a zip file, and the size of the zip file is the quality of the art

Re: generated art
judging by twitter the current hype is people generating pictures of their waifu which uh, good for them but it's not really that inspiring

Re: generated art
"but rylinks isn't that just because of the people you follow" shut up
Re: generated art
I've seen some AI-generated anime waifus, they're pretty good! Obviously the power of a waifu is the story she's in, but visually many of them are interesting and distinct and just plain cool.
Re: generated art
I assumed Rylinks was talking about new images of a specific waifu target, not that generic wonky GAN stuff
You may be talking about newer replacements to generic wonky GAN stuff and they might also be cool though!

Re: generated art
it occurs to me that when people were talking about not caring about artists getting ripped off or whatever they were thinking of like the whatever painted shit that you'd do with like dall-e
Re: generated art
or maybe some of us are just really thirsty for the power to make our own anime art we never had before

Re: generated art
i guess a person could argue for it being high effort content if it took them a really long time to come up with the prompt
